Welcome to Fredericton's Karate Dojo

Welcome to the The Fredericton Karate Dojo (FKD) website. The FKD is New Brunswick’s only Dojo (training studio) that is certified by The Dai Nippon Butokukai (DNBK) of Kyoto, Japan.  The founders of all the major martial arts were members, including Judo, Aikido, Kendo, Iaido, Ju Jutstsu as well as various different styles of Karate-do.

Our Certified Instructors have over 50 years combined experience:

We are also New Brunswick’s only Dojo teaching authentic Okinawan Karate-do known as: Meitoku-ha Goju Ryu Karate-do.

The focus of Okinawan Karate is on the time proven self-defense techniques hidden in the kata (forms) as opposed to training for sport karate competitions. We are members of Karate New Brunswick, our provinces division of the National Karate Association. The NKA is Canada’s governing body for sport karate of various styles.

Our goal is to teach the traditional form of Goju Ryu Karate as it was taught to our Master instructor, Ken Tallack, Hachidan, Kyoshi, by his teacher Dai Sensei Yagi Meitoku from Okinawa.
